About Us
About Us
At Principality Sporthorses, our training program is built on the belief that horses thrive when they're allowed to be horses. Every aspect of training, care, and management is centered around this and we provide living in environments that support their natural instincts, social needs, and physical well-being.
From thoughtful turnout schedules to individualized nutrition and conditioning, we prioritize each horse’s health, happiness, and longevity. We work with veterinarians, farriers, and equine bodywork specialists DFW has to offer to ensure proactive care and to address any issues early.
Horsemanship as a Core Value
The heart of our program is a commitment to true horsemanship. We teach riders not only how to be as competitive as possible, but also how to understand, respect, and connect with their horses. Developing patience, empathy, and skill with horses and ourselves is just as important as performance in the ring or on the field. This emphasis ensures that both horse and rider build a partnership with a good foundation.
Setting Horses Up for Success
Rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all path, we carefully evaluate each horse’s temperament, conformation, and natural abilities to find the discipline that best suits them—whether it’s the precision and athleticism of hunter/jumper competition or the agility, speed and teamwork of polo. This tailored approach creates confident, willing equine partners and allows them to excel in the discipline where they feel most comfortable. Every horse that comes through our program is met where they're at in their career, including unbroke and advanced level horses. No matter the discipline, our foundation is dressage focused to allow to horse to learn how to properly move and use their bodies while under saddle.
Showing and Competition
While showing and competing is the end goal, we pride ourselves on giving both horses and riders the right tools for success, in and out of the ring. We go to local and rated shows around the DFW in multiple disciplines- hunter/jumpers/eq, dressage, lower level eventing and ranch pleasure. Showing is more about competing against yourself and being a better horseman than you were the day before.
